Cornelis (Kees) Wilhelmus Maria Verhoeven (Udenhout, February 2, 1928 - Den Bosch, June 11, 2001) was a Dutch philosopher, essayist and professor.
Verhoeven wrote mainly philosophical essays. He translated among other classical authors. In total, he published more than 80 titles and thousands of articles and documents. Some are translated from his books, including in English and German, as around the emptiness (1965) and Introduction to wonder (1967). In addition to philosophy and cultural criticism, a number of writings also autobiographical in nature. So he gives the work without a sigh, the weeks leading up to the death of his father, demonstrating a literary sensibility. Although it Verhoeven has no lack of official recognition of his talent, he kept during his life for the general public largely unknown. According to many, he was nevertheless the most original thinker of our language in the twentieth century. (Source: Wikipedia)
